If you love snow and ice. And electric cars. Then here is a candy for you. Team the RaceAbout achieved electric car speed record on frozen Lake Ukonjärvi in Finland. This was done by averaging speed of 161.59mph over two laps. Previously the Metropolia Electric held the electric car speed record made on famous Nürburgring race track.

Another achievement by electric beauties. And great showoff by Helsinki Metrololia University of Applied Sciences and their the RaceAbout Team. Now it’s time to take on Paris-Dakar.

I hope that after reading hundreds of articles on our website – you are totally convinced that electric powered engine are the future of not only motoring, but performance cars too.

Japanese electric supercar reveled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show – Infiniti Emerg-E

One of the Japanese stars of the 2012 Geneva Motor Show was new Infiniti Emerg-E electric supercar. We hope to see this beauty on the streets soon.

Japanese star is beautiful sculptured powerful sport car with 400-horsepower range-extended powertrain. Infiniti Emerg-E can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in four seconds, what brings this environment friend car in level with petrol powered road machinery. According to Infinity range will be around 300-miles, of course depends on how much you can resist to push the pedal. This two seat coupon will have range-extender powertrain, where electric engine will work with 1.2 L petrol engine.

Nissan proved int he past their serious attention in developing electric cars and moving them fast into production. We are sure that Infiniti Emerg-E will see the light of the day too. 320 mph – The fastest electric car in the World – the Buckeye Bullet

I am sure you thought Tesla Roadster is a fast car. But the Buckeye Bullet is a bit faster. And still fully electric. Electric supercar was built by Ohio State University’s Center for Auto Research. Tested at the Bonneville Salt Flats, Buckeye Bullet averaged 307.7 mph miles per hour. And reached top speed of 320 mph. You remember those skeptics that said that electric car can not be fast. I am sure this the end of discussion.

“In order to get high speed, you need sleek aerodynamics so you’re not holding the car back,” said AC Propulsion’s Joshua Allan. “You need high power so it can cut through the wind.”

That’s just what Ohio State wants for the Venturi Buckeye Bullet 3, designed to exceed 400 mph when it debuts in 2012. They are not alone, as Don Wales, a descendant of British speed racer Sir Malcolm Campbell intend to rach 500 mph in his Bluebird Electric. Rimac Automobili Concept One – 800kW electric supercar storms through the sport car industry

In the recent years we covered number of supercars, but this is one of the most exciting we ever seen. Gorgeous bodywork, astonishing performance and all from new comer in electr sport car industry - Rimac Automobili. Croatian company presented the Rimac Concept One at the 2011 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show. This beautiful sport car monster packs one electric motors mounted to each wheel hub. Electric motors will output of 800kW collectively, enough for 1088hp, and groundbreaking 3800Nm of torque. This will make Rimac Concept One one of the quickest supercars on the planet and most exciting electric car that one can own. This electric rocket will reach 0-100km/h in only 2.8 seconds, while top speed will have to be electronically limited to 305km/h. Look up for local hackers to overwrite this!

Rimac Concept One is also real World supercar, with amazing range of around 600km at full charge. This will allow Rimac Concept One to be real bargain in showroom, as there is no many electric supecars that you can take for a spin around local curvy mountain road without a fear of being left with empty battery. For sure you will enjoy in every corner as Rimac Concept_One is build from lightweight materials such as carbon fibre and special sport setup to ensure the best on-road performance.

Tesla Roadster coming back in 2014 – Tesla Roadster 3 we asume

The gorgeous and glorious Tesla Roadster is out of production, as we mentioned before in article about Tesla stopping production. But don’t worry - Roadster will be back in 2014! we expect few surprises two with improved handling and a new dashboard design.

Tesla Roadster model use Lotus body as a base for this electric sportcar car. The partnership with Lotus set to production of 2,500 cars, which is no reached. Yes, 2,500 happy owners zoom around in silence of their electric Roadster.

As Tesla is now busy with producing Model S and Model X, new sportcar will be based on technology from these two electric cars. Of course Tesla will have to pull all their engineering power in work this time, as we expect that car will handle the curves even better than Lotus version. Audi RSe coming in 2013. – new name for the gorgeous Audi R8 E-tron electric sport car

Audi announced new lineup of their flagship sport car R8 for 2014. We are sure that this will include amazing electric sport car Audi E-Tron. We already wrote about this electric monster in the recent months. And anticipate launching that will hit the auto industry with the fastest, most beautiful production electric supercar.

Audi R8 will be updated in 2012 with many details and engine improvements. R8 V10 increasing its current output of 525 bhp to to 540 bhp. And of course V8 version will be present too. For now there is no news about change to E-Tron, except official name – Audi RSe.

Yes, The DeLorean Motor Company is back with DeLorean DMC-12 as an electric supercar! Car that become famous from the movie Back To The Future are ready for the future!

New DeLorean DMC-12 EV will be built using 80 per cent original parts. And by partnering with Epic Electric Vehicles, new electric powered drivetrain will take your new DeLorean DMC-12 110km and 160km per charge. Epic will use it’s proven electric system to produce 194kW electric motor with pwoer going to the rear wheels. Top speed is not bad at all – around 200km/h. Great for this classic – now in environment friend version. DeLorean interior is updated to accommodation some new gadgets, including your iPhone 4s of course. Cockpit looks great – total modern classic – no rounded plastic here. Just sturdy good design and clean layout.

There is no price revealed yet for this updated classic – but can you put a price on classic such as DeLorean DMC-12 EV?
