In Memory – Sergio Pininfarina, Father of Italian Car Design and The Most Beautiful Ferrari and Maserati Sport Cars Ever Made
We would like to pay our respect and honor to father of Italian car design and Master of beauty – Sergio Pininfarina. Sergio Pininfarina passed away in home of Italian car industry, Turin on 3rd of July 2012. Sergio lead Pininfarina – Italian company famous for designing concept and production cars under their own badges, as well as for the biggest car companies in the world.
Sergio Pininfarina designed the most beautiful and exciting cars in the world, including the Ferrari Testarossa, Fiat 124 Spider and Maserati GranTurismo, just to mention a few. He also designed cars for Jaguar, Peugeot, Volvo, Mitshubishi, Austin and others. He will always be remembered by muscled and erotic design of blood red Ferraris, such as Dino, Ferrari F40 and Enzo Ferrari.
Pininfarina made exciting and beautiful concepts for decades. Company was founded by Sergio’s father, Battista Farina, who famously turned down job for Henry Ford and stayed in Italy to design cars and start Pininfarina in 1930. Company was handed over to Sergio’s son Andrea in 2000, who tragically died in car accident. In the last few years, Pininfarina focused on electric car concept – another reason why we respect the a lot. In 90’tis I was lucky enough to attend only specialized High School for Design in my country. Being focus on industrial design my love was car design and I would always look for any news from Pininfarina studios. Elegance, muscle stance and exquisite form of Pininfarina design always attracted me. I am deeply thankful for all joy Mr.Sergio and his team gave me through the years. My thoughts are with Pininfarina family.
