This car is not only most beautiful, exciting sportcar, but now it come in E-cell electric version. Can a heaven be any better? Well yes, according to Mercedes engineers.
Powerful 6.3-litre V-8 engine will be replaced with four electric motors, one positioned near each wheel. Power will come from a 400-volt lithium ion battery pack producing 48 kilowatt hours. This will propeller SLS AMG E-Cell to 60 mph in 4 seconds, just .3 seconds slower than the gasoline-powered version.
And with 526 horsepower and 649 pound-feet of torque this electric green supercar have a little less than the 563 horsepower of the gasoline engine. And SLS AMG E-Cell will be plugged to all-wheel-drive to balance ballistic power and instant torque of electric engines. Ceramic breaks will be in place to stop this monster. And yes, expect Mercedes SLS AMG E-Cell to be on sale in 2012.
